Sustainability at Son Manera

For us, sustainability is a broad idea – from the environment to the way we live and work together

Honest rather than perfect

The Son Manera Retreat Finca is an estate with history – walls that have carried more than just the house for almost 400 years. Preserving an old house means embracing its quirks and improving where we can: saving resources wherever possible, and finding an honest balance between preservation and modernity.

More than a holiday

For me, sustainability means, above all, creating a place of retreat in a touristically valuable destination like Mallorca. A place of valued togetherness, for tourism built on mutual respect.

The green oasis that is Son Manera

Around the Finca Son Manera lie 7 hectares of gardens, fields, and pastures. Sheep graze on the former football field, fresh wheat grows in the fields, and the garden bears the signature of Son Manera’s gardener, Juanjo. With great attention to detail, he tends to the green lawn, watered from the finca’s own well to preserve the natural cycle. The orange and olive trees are allowed to flourish entirely without fertilizer, nourished only by the power of the Mediterranean sun. This makes the Son Manera Retreat Finca a green oasis, full of vibrant flowers and shrubs – cared for with all the love that nature deserves.
